 VANDALISM IN BANGLADESH AGAINST HINDUS

VANDALISM IN BANGLADESH AGAINST HINDUS

If from childhood you indoctrinate your children with the thought that your religion is the only true religion in the world and your book the holiest and truest, that your prophet is the last prophet to have come on earth, that Hindus are idolaters and their mode of worship incorrect and inferior, that conversion from other religions to your religion is at a near or far distance in time binding but conversion from your religion to some others an act of apostasy punishable in a dire manner, even death in the extreme case, and if you make such indoctrination a daily discipline, it is but natural that at the slightest pretext some of these individuals, now grown-up and fallen into evil ways, will vandalise and do all sorts of violent activity against members of other faiths. History, the Partition of India and countless acts of terrorism globally prove the correctness of this assertion. True enough, there are geopolitical reasons that actuate many of these acts but essentially it is this dangerous and irrational indoctrination that lies at the heart of this issue. Time it is to redress but who will do it? Scriptural injunctions cannot be overturned just like that. It is human rational rejection en masse of intolerant credo that must do it. Do not teach your children these intolerant stuff from childhood. Allow them to grow up into healthy human beings with empathy for all of humanity and not just for their religious brethren. Do not force-feed archaic absolutist doctrines into their heads and so mould them over time into fanatical sectarians. It is time for the whole of humanity to be modern in outlook and relegate medieval superstition to the bin of history and move on.

God bless human inhumanity and public indifference at the injustices thus far done to the Hindus by who you know it all ! When the Hindus are thus oppressed as in the recent serial episodes in Bangladesh, it is pertinent that Islamic states declare unequivocally that all religions are equally true and that Islam alone is not the only true way to God. Will they do it? Will Bangladesh do it? Will Pakistan do it? Will the Vatican City do it? Not beating about the bush but a direct, straightforward, unequivocal declaration.
