LOVE VERSUS HATE

The power of love is infinitely stronger than the power of hate and, yet, hate wins more often than not. Which means that men hardly love each other. If they did, love would win. All that goes by the name of love is the pretence of it. What is needed is genuine love and that is brewed in the distillery of the heart over years of disciplined devotion to the divine ideal. The entire nervous organization, its mechanism of assimilation of ideas and response to such have to undergo a thorough overhauling and what comes out in consequence is a system saturated with love. Such love when directed to society brings forth wonderful changes in men and women, and is more potent than the power of hate that so disrupts social relations periodically. We call ourselves Hindus ; we call ourselves devotees ; we call ourselves followers of Ramakrishna-Vivekananda. We must justify that claim by being the possessors of this love that can conquer all.
