WE, THE PEOPLE OF INDIA ... 15

WE, THE PEOPLE OF INDIA ... 15

If we greet each other with 'Jai Hind ' as suggested by one, then we ought not to subscribe to statements such as, " We will not let Bengal become Gujarat." Let our conception be clear as to what the greeting 'Jai Hind ' means after all. We cannot be parochial or provincial and, yet, pretend to be patriotic. Let our patriotism shine clear of parochial sentiments, of provincial segmentation. Let us be Indians first and then our respective demographic denominations.

There is no place in the polity for those who attempt to divide the people along diverse lines while all the time clamouring against adversaries who they hold as being culpable to the same offence. Thus does divisive leadership lose its hold on the masses in due course and is penalised by the electorate duly. Ultimately, it is popular sovereignty that dictates the life of a democracy and not leaders enjoying temporary mass base. The polity picks the grain from the chaff despite all political pretensions of leaders and it upholds newer personalities each time the present leadership lets them down. Thus, democracy rectifies current consequences through altered mandate and ushers in hopefully a brighter morrow, for socioeconomic evolution follows a tortuous path and is the derivative ultimately of the higher laws of spiritual evolution where mandate reaches not.

Jai Shree Ram ! Vande Mataram ! Jai Hind !
