Do not water down the highest spiritual truths by giving them a social colour. Sense-suppression and transcendence of the material world is the key. Absolute freedom of the being is the terminal realisation that has to be reached. The return to the world to serve humanity will follow in due course. But the emphasis must be on the practice of spiritual disciplines that will lead to enlightenment. In its absence social welfare will be reduced to material culture eventually with its concomitant decadence following in its wake. Hence, spirituality must not be diluted by substituting its scripture-prescribed disciplines with social service merely. It is the spirit that ultimately triumphs and not matter. Remembering this as the cardinal principle, proceed to practise the spiritual disciplines enjoined on you by your preceptor (Guru). Fail not to abide by his / her instructions. Jai Gurudev !
