Religion? Ours is not a religion of faith or doctrinaire blind observance. Ours is the philosophy perennial which underlies all the religions of the world. But, unfortunately, we, Hindus, continue to betray our very own Sanatan Dharma by not doing our regular spiritual practices and by only resorting to empty talk which amounts to nothing when it comes to combating the proselytising forces of the two major Semitic religions whose stated objective is the conversion of the whole world to their fold.
Here we have work to do. We need to do our spiritual practices daily, diligently so that we emerge strong as a community armed in the fire of God. Let us, therefore, calmly proceed to building our character, to strengthening our personality so that we may survive the onslaughts of the day and conquer our adversaries with the light of knowledge and love. Unto that day may Maryada Purushottam Shree Ramchandra lead us ! May we serve His cause duly and with devotion to usher in a new spiritual civilisation in the world which will have the underlying divinity of sentience as its basis and harmonic acceptance of each other's paths to perfection as its edifice !
Such a civilisation will come into being the day all narrow sectarian totalitarian faiths have undergone due rationalisation unto fresher formulations based on the principles of universality as the Vedanta prescribes. Until that happens, all attempts at obtaining religious harmony will be foiled by the two dominant religions of Abrahamic origin and peace will fail in consequence of that.
It is intolerant doctrine and its brainwashed observance by billions that eventually stands in the way of inter-religious peace and harmony. Hinduism here will have a seminal role to play and it is bounden on a billion Hindus to do their bit by way of spreading the brightest spiritual thoughts that humanity has been privy to in the tide of times. In it shall lie the Hindu's truest devotion to Shree Ram and such attitude and action shall constitute the core of the chant 'Jai Shree Ram !'
