THE ONE THAT ACCEPTED INDIA WHOLLY AND NEVER WATERED DOWN TRUTH

The only great personality of modern India who accepted India wholly and not in parts, and who spoke the undiluted whole truth and nothing but the truth, without watering it down to suit political exigencies of the times, was the redoubtable revolutionary of the Spirit, the greatest son of modern India, Swami Vivekananda. All others compromised in some degree, greater or lesser, and have, so, let the cause of truth down to that extent. But not Swami Vivekananda who unfurled the flag of India in alien and oppressive conditions without a single compromise marring his effort. Nor did he speak half-truths at home or avoided dangerous issues that could have sharp communal overtones as interpreted by lesser mortals who did not have the honesty to admit facts as they were. Thus have I held him lifelong as my life's ideal.
