What is the point in calling oneself spiritual if one lives in an ideal world of fantasies and dreams oblivious of the harsh realities that afflict the bulk of humanity, if one cares not to protest against the injustices that major world powers like the US inflict on minor powers like Vietnam and Iraq for geopolitical ends and economic exploitation, if one compromises with the imperial order of the day disguised as the democrat and preaches but the Vedanta to pacify the perpetrator with the refinements of philosophy while taking care not to step on the terrain of tyranny that the pretentious political dispensation unleashes on innocent children of the Lord, if make-believe social welfare that leaves billions to suffer at the hands of despotic democrats and totalitarian dictators must comprise the body politic of the social transformation to be effected in the name of the divine incarnation of the day, if a callous unconcern for the deeper issues that afflict human society is in order in the name of an aloof isolation from politics, what value is there in such a spirituality that is dead at inception out of fear of retribution from the powers that govern the destiny of man?
