Proselytising religions are dying despite their attempts to live on an extended term through their toxic agenda of conversion of the gullible and the innocent. But the toxin kills them, too, as reason erodes faith in the supernatural, and it is but a matter of time before the hangman's noose kisses the necks of these perpetrators of noxious superstition that has held man through ages in chains of fear and thrust-on faith.
The hour approaches when man will stand in the sunshine of freedom and the fearless rejection of archaic beliefs that have no basis in truth or in the reality of existence. The moment of close confrontation with the fact of fleeting life's deathly end arrives in its chariot wheels of reason and the war will be on soon en masse, not with some vain hope of a future heavenly survival or the morbid fear of hellish retribution postmortem but in the earnest quest for the realisation of some existential truth transcending the psycho-physical being, for humanity cannot remain satiated eternally either with whole lies, half-truths or refracted apprehensions of its own existence.
The Vedanta comes in here like rolling waves of the realisations of the rishis of India, cascading the hills and the dales, the plateaus and plains of the wide world all around. But that is another matter, a chapter for future elaboration elsewhere. Right now we are witnessing a unique phenomenon -- the decline and the death of the Semitic religions despite their vain expectancy of an extended life-term in spreading the contagion around through the noxious norm of proselytising.
