THE DOTS AND THE GAPS

Why are there so many dots and gaps in 'The Complete Works of Swami Vivekananda'? It makes reading discontinuous and a trifle frustrating. I wonder if the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission will answer this simple question of mine beyond stating that the notes taken down of Swamiji's speeches were incomplete in themselves which accounts for these discontinuities. But is that the whole truth or has purposeful editing been done for organisational reasons?
