DR. AMBEDKAR

DR. AMBEDKAR

Dr. Ambedkar was a person of singular brilliance, an uncompromising adherent of truth, of uncluttered intelligence and possessed of a rare insight into the heart of things. His analysis of the caste situation, the plight of the shudras and the outcastes, his brave and brutally honest deposition before BBC on Gandhi and his prophecy on Partition and its future consequences if total exchange of population were not done, are masterly manifestations of his intellect.

Dr. Ambedkar had no cobwebs in his brain and was a far bigger patriot than most of our prominent Congress leaders. He embraced Buddhism by way of protest against age-old oppression of the lower castes and the outcaste by upper caste Hindus but he did not embrace any of the proselytising Abrahamic religions, namely, Islam and Christianity. Thus he prevented Indian dharmic disintegration despite pronounced misgivings against its terrible inequalities and injustices thereof.

Dr. Ambedkar was one person who sized up the so-called Mahatma perfectly and Islam and its intentions perfectly as well. He exposed all in the light of facts and figures and perceptive observations which, to my mind, makes him the greatest thinker after Swami Vivekananda and Sri Aurobindo. I would even dare to say that he had a clearer mind than both of them, although, not philosophically as deep for sure. But for pragmatic thinking Ambedkar was nonpareil.
