WE, THE PEOPLE

WE, THE PEOPLE

We are a miserly people, slavish, jealous of each other, unable to appreciate talent, any original thinking that is abreast or ahead of time. So have we betrayed our greats in the past, so are we doing today. One only hopes that the inertial flow in contemptuous disregard for our nation's greats by the common mass of educated humanity will be broken once and for all so that the nation flourishes from its best fruition in the fertile minds of its men of merit and no more has to wallow in the mire of mediocrity that has so come to characterise every sphere of national endeavour. We are weakened by this neglect of talent, by this abysmal abhorrence of everything worthwhile while we revel in lowly culture that lowers us by the day. We are by self-choice a debilitated nation for we are a polity that is unashamedly puerile, perverse in its pursuits and persistent in pronounced poverty of thought.
