NO ARROGANCE, PLEASE, IN DEFENCE OR EVEN IN OFFENCE

NO ARROGANCE, PLEASE, IN DEFENCE OR EVEN IN OFFENCE

Hindutvavaadis must know about Islam, true, but must in no way develop a superficial superiority complex, nay, cultural arrogance, themselves.  That is a self-defeating exercise. Combating Islamic intolerance does not give one the automatic right to hold oneself higher than others. That goes against the spirit of the Sanatan Dharma. The Bhagavad Geeta dictates samesightedness as the highest attitude that must adorn an individual. To feel oneself superior to others is not strength but springs from a deep sense of one's own insecurity and in effect is evidence of one's weakness and a creeping feeling of inferiority in some inverted sense.

The strong feel a sense of sameness because only in sameness the negative attributes of fear, complacency and other weakening vices have no effect on an individual. Thus, cultural superiority notwithstanding -- should it be there -- humility ought to adorn the warrior's armoury like additional shield and not its antithesis in self-invasive arrogance which leaves gaping gaps for the adversary to inflict telling injury.
