WHAT SORT OF A SALUTE SHALL IT BE?

The only salute I know of that I may offer to the military martyrs of the motherland is to follow in their footsteps in terms of personal discipline, valour and patriotism. Mere words are not enough. We must imbibe their attributes and carry them out in living action in the service of the motherland.

Each one of us can offer our best talents towards the cause of the raising of our nation. In it lies real patriotism of a democratic order where a vast divergence of endeavours and deeds will conduce to the well-being of our nation.

Hope, eternal hope rises in the heart when I behold our brave boys offer their lives for the sake of saving the sovereignty of the nation. It fills me with undying inspiration to do something for the nation even as they have selflessly done. So may you all be inspired instead of limiting yourselves to writing insipid messages of condolence or salutation that merely can render passive service to the nation but not an active one that can as yet galvanise our people into becoming a vibrant mass with an indestructible patriotic fervour, an omnipotent will and a sense of national purpose which will arm our country with an arsenal far more potent than our enemies can even imagine. May love for the motherland translate from feeling in the heart to living action that will unfailingly build her fortunes ! Jai Hind !
