WHEN THE CROWN ANNOUNCES COLONIAL THEFT, NAY, PLUNDER OF MONSTROUS PROPORTIONS, AND WHEN A NATION STOOPS TO IT YET IN SERVITUDE
How can the Queen of England ever wear her jewelled Crown whose every diamond has been drawn illicitly from the reserves of India? And how can India seek subservience to Britain through her affiliation to the British Commonwealth of Nations despite her emergence as an independent nation if even in mischievous dismemberment foisted on her by her colonial masters?
Commonwealth? Whose wealth is it after all? Britain's? The plundered accumulation of her colonising culture of centuries when she despoiled and debased erstwhile peaceful, flourishing nations in the name of spreading civilisation?
Why must India subscribe to such servitude despite freedom won through the spilt blood of a million martyrs? Do we have no self-respect? Is such membership of the British Commonwealth of Nations not an absolution afforded to the erstwhile colonisers for all their misdeeds, an acknowledgement of our stance that we have not only forgiven them for all their dastardly designs but that we even partially endorse their actions as having been prompted by the exigencies of the times and that we stand in passive acquiescence to their persisting neo-colonislism of the day, too? Are we are a free people who hold their heads high in sovereign dignity or are we yet mental, and, why not, perhaps, legal slaves to the British, too? After all, who knows what the clauses of the Transfer of Power Agreement are?
In this regard let us learn from the Chinese what national pride is. There we may as yet profit from a formidable foe in acquiring lessons in genuine nationalism that stoops not to pay obeisance to royalty in a proletariat's world of abolished privilege.
