A wonderful presentation of our Son of God, Swami Brahmananda, by Swami Balabhadrananda in his lovely homely style that strikes a chord straight with the devotee's heart. The appeal is instant as Raja Maharaj's personality is held before us in all its spectral range. The profundity of his being is laid bare in such simple terms through anecdotes that complexity dissolves into common understanding and the titanic powerhouse of spirituality becomes accessible to us as never before. Such felicity in delineation of a character so complex as has been achieved by the speaker leaves one rapt in wonderment and one cannot help speculating if Swami Balabhadrananda has not had the experience of Sri Ramakrishna in some measure already. Else, such balance in speech with not a syllable uttered that could be termed as out of place in the address in spiritual terms is not possible. Sri Ramakrishna must have in some form or other graced this genial monk. It is simply a delight to listen to him for he is utterly devoid of egotism and the oft-encountered attribute of the monastic that goes by the name of spiritual pride.
