ON THE DAY OF HIS FINAL FLIGHT
Yet another marvellous monk of the Order, utterly humble, a chosen child of the Mother dedicated to doing Her work. Swami Balabhadrananda, Assistant General Secretary of the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, is so utterly self-effacing that should one not be told about his exalted executive status from beforehand, one will find no clue to knowing it. His delivery of discourse in a simple style, unpretentious and unassuming, leaves one with a sense of the sublime even in the most rustic environment. His innocence, unspoiled despite positional attainment, is infectious and inspires hope that a lot of steam is as yet remaining in this order of the Master that will carry it farther than often it seems it will from the disappointment caused by some of its other members who do not quite inspire a like hope. But Swami Balabhadrananda is quite in a different league altogether and one but wonders if a day will come when he shall adorn the seat that is most representative of the Master. But that is a reckoning way ahead, far, far into the distant future. As of now let us listen to what he says about Swamiji on the occasion of his day of grand departure from the confines of his physical frame and the terrestrial realm. The music begins. Listen.
