The boy who could resolve to renounce for God, who then was persuaded into patriotic service by Swami Brahmananda, who dedicated his whole life to the task of freeing his motherland with a rare single-mindedness of purpose, whose soul was consecrated at the lotus feet of Ramakrishna-Vivekananda to the fullest, who could never compromise with weakness or self-serving meanness, who dared the citadels of the heavens and entered hell, as it were, to make common cause with the Devil to liberate his beloved country, who gave up a coveted career to seek the life of untold toil and torment, unto that Netaji we owe the free air we breathe today, and unto him belongs my heart.
