THE REAL REVOLUTIONARIES

THE REAL REVOLUTIONARIES

The beauty of the revolutionary movement was that the revolutionaries manfully defied Gandhi and carried on the real uncompromising struggle for freedom against all odds which eventually paid the dividend of freedom, albeit partitioned on account of perfidious politicians practising pernicious policies.

But the revolutionaries never compromised. They died by the bullet, the bayonet and by the hangman's noose but never gave up their armed struggle for freedom. Where they failed, there were strategic reasons and their countrymen's betrayal at every point, and where they succeeded, there were historical reasons, too, affording situations which they fully utilised to the achievement of their objective ends.

Gandhi remained the implacable adversary to the proliferation of armed revolution in India but the revolutionaries, nonetheless, persisted to the achievement of their objective ends. It was the resolution of a medley of causes and effects that eventually liberated India. Time it is to assess history afresh and correctly chronicle the saga of India's independence.
