Europe has had to rise through terrible superstition thrust on it by Christianity. Greek civilisation was darkened by the shroud thus laid over Europe. It took not just the blood of the Messiah to deliver but the blood of hundreds of millions through two millenia to brighten up human hopes and set it free of this terrible tyranny of ignorance coming in the name of redeeming spirituality. The personality of Christ in the visions of saints and sages may be sublime but his projected personality and teachings in the four Gospels seem a queer admixture of sublimity and superstition with all the traditional trappings of the age impeding his movement as a true Messiah who have been approved by genuine men of science in the preceding Greece and India and in the modern age of scientific searchlight exposing the heart of things.
