Practise brahmacharya before denouncing it as unnecessary. Fools alone eulogise incontinence. Materialists scarce comprehend the glory of purity. Only spiritual people apprehend its real worth.
It is not for desire-driven deluded souls to have an insight into the subtle workings of the body and to arrive at a higher conception of the divine scheme of things phenomenal. They can only value enjoyment as the transitory benefit to be derived from fleeting life and have no thought beyond physical and mental delight. Spirituality is alien to them and this they, thus, discard as extraneous to the rational discourse and deem it an archaic element of human civilisation that has had its run and can now best be buried in the desert sands of their inconsiderate negation.
But humanity is larger in its overall perspective on things and there are as yet people of extraordinary purity and application in leading the life of the spirit who preserve the ancient traditions of the dharma whose absence otherwise would have reduced humanity en masse to barbarous proportions and sent civilisation to despair.
