How may we learn as to what Swamiji had taught in totality and, so, in essence about so many contentious issues of history when his Complete Works have been edited so heavily, leaving blank spaces everywhere to let the reader wonder as to what have been left out thus? And the more politically volatile the piece potentially is, the greater has this editing been done. Alas, we are indeed a nation of brave men imbued with the spirit of truth and the courage of conviction that fears nothing when it comes to establishing such truth !
Such excessive editing of the works of the one who came to edit human attitudes and impulses, has, in the process, largely made it toothless and ineffective in bringing about massive psychological changes in humanity that he so ardently desired. Verily, 'The Complete Works of Swami Vivekananda' are not quite so complete in the light of such glaring omissions made and belie the significance of the title.
