Cunning way of the British to absolve responsibility for the Partition and to lay the blame entirely on Jinnah. It was the British who had actually devised methods to bring about the Partition for geopolitical reasons. It suited Jinnah and Nehru to side with them for personal benefits of grabbing power and for Jinnah's obsessive concern for the Muslims having a separate State. While Nehru benefited from it for a long time to come, Jinnah died soon of cancer within two years of Pakistan gaining dominion status and could not enjoy his reign. Nehru, however, established his dynasty and passed on his throne to his descendants for them to become the monarchs of modern India. The British divided India and reaped the geopolitical rewards which they till date do as Pakistan remains the bugbear ever for India and perpetrates terror after being smashed in four successive wars with India one of which in turn divided it and created the independent State of Bangladesh.
