AH, WOULD IT WERE THAT SHIVAJI MET GANDHIJI !
Surely, you do not mean to say that Shivaji would have waged a non-violent struggle against Aurangzeb had he met Gandhiji by time travel? He hated those who betrayed the salt they had partaken of. But, would the Chhatrapati stoop to Gandhian levels to make a mockery of the manufacture of sodium chloride along the shores of political perversion? Shivaji combined his friends and associates to oust his enemies but would he take the cue from the Mahatma to oust his friends, instead, in the bid to befriend his enemies? After all, Shivaji may have been monarch but Gandhiji was the Mahatma. Would Shivaji not bow down to his magnetic charm and interpret the Bhagavad Geeta and all his mother Jeejabai's valorous teachings in the light of newly discovered selective non-violence and pretentious truth? I wonder. Do you not wonder as well?
