We must transcend national boundaries and embrace the whole of humanity. For this we need liberal thinking and the courage to resist ideological fanaticism.
A global consciousness fed into our academic system would do wonders that could offset the damage now being done in theocratic countries through religious indoctrination. The youth are the hope and they will imbibe this human consciousness and usher in a better world order in the decades to come.
So far as religion is concerned, there must be absolute separation of the State from religion and the citizens must be treated as equals in the real sense and not merely on paper everywhere. Voluntary religious conversion must be scrutinised well by investigative agencies set up by the government and all attempts to intentionally proselytise must be stopped by governmental sanction.
Scientific and secular education and a humanistic ethical training based on universal values without any particular affiliation to any religion must be the call of the hour as we proceed to enlarge our visions and embrace the whole of humankind in our sincere sympathy for all.
