Abhijitt Mukharjji : This happened just 30 minutes after meeting the nation's biggest traitor Nehru. Azaad went to meet Nehru and request for Congress' support in requesting the British Indian govt to go soft with revolutionaries. Nehru denied and informed police by telephone soon after Azaad left then rest is history.

Sugata Bose : Is this true? Is there any evidence that Nehru informed the police or is it purely circumstantial inference that is behind this, what might otherwise seem like a likely assumption? Please understand that I am asking merely to clarify my conception of the case and not to contradict whatever may be in your knowledge. At any rate, this meeting with Nehru 30 minutes before the fateful encounter at Alfred Park, Allahabad, needs to be highlighted as it lends credible weight to the case as also to Nehru's future stances with respect to Netaji and the INA. This is a startling coincidence and needs to be investigated way beyond mere surmises or assertions and, least of all, needs to be continuously highlighted before all and sundry for the dual reason of (a) propagating the cause of the revolutionaries and (b) exposing before the world the double standards maintained by Nehru and the like. I must thank you, Abhijitt Mukharjji, for intimating me this piece of information. I had earlier known it from another source a few years back and this fresh affirmation to the same effect lends considerable weight to the Alfred Park episode in its tragic eventual element of betrayal.

Abhijitt Mukharjji : Nehru had a vested interest and he was fully aware of his shortcomings and that's why practiced adverse politics against all the revolutionaries. They never supported these brilliant jewels of mother India fearing they may replace him out when India gets independence and he will get nothing. It's so typical of his dynasty of looters.
