LET THE BIRTHDAY OF SRI RAMAKRISHNA BE CELEBRATED ON A FIXED DAY AS IS CHRISTMAS CELEBRATED TO ADVANTAGE

Let Sri Ramakrishna's birthday be celebrated on a fixed day every year, 18 February, the date of his appearance on earth, so that it gains moment among the world community from their prior knowledge of its impending arrival every year. Let the birth tithi be celebrated as usual, following the almanac and the public celebration on a Sunday thereafter as well but let the fixity of this day allow its better prominence among vast humanity the world over. Thus will the propagation work be better by far than is being enabled by people's ignorance of the exact location of this most important day of the calendar.

Christmas is celebrated every year on 25 December to advantage. The whole world knows when it will be celebrated even a hundred years later but when Sri Ramakrishna's birth tithi will be celebrated even the very year is unknown to most. And this is unfortunate. Let measures be adopted to redressing this problem and appropriate action be taken to facilitate the fixed day celebration every year over and above the other tow aforesaid days.
