IN DEFENCE OF THE RAMAKRISHNA MISSION ... 1
The recent controversy raging on social media centring Sri Rantidev Sengupta's facebook post dated 12 September, 2018 (attachment provided below), following the honourable Chief Minister's speech the previous day at Belur Math on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of Swami Vivekananda's Chicago Address has necessitated this series of essays in defence of the Ramakrishna Mission to which I belong as an initiated devotee. This is entirely a personal initiative of mine to clarify conceptions about the episode and its later derivatives and has nothing to do with the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission as such officially. I am writing this series entirely on my own initiative to clear the murky air and upon me lies the sole responsibility for its factual and inferential accuracy or otherwise. The facts I have gleaned from YouTube and Sri Rantidev Sengupta's profile wall where he has posted his related write-ups and my late defence is on account of my inability to gather enough material on all sides to be able to form an unbiased and impartial judgement on this entire episode.
