A QUESTION OR TWO, PERHAPS

A QUESTION OR TWO, PERHAPS

Where birth beckons the day to follow, why invoke death in the name of self? Devotee, how devoted are you in hot pursuit of selfish dreams?

ELUCIDATION :

'Where birth beckons the day to follow'...

ANALYSIS : Birth is followed by experience of the future that unfolds and it is birth that beckons (calls forth) the impending moment(s) whose stringed necklace is the web of all futurity.

'why invoke death in the name of self?'...

ANALYSIS : Why practise petty selfishness to thwart future possibilities for the while, for freedom, ever there at hand, goes flitting by unattended as the puny self blocks vision and sends the individual down the path of death?

'Devotee, how devoted are you in hot pursuit of selfish dreams?' ...

ANALYSIS : Devotee, you call yourself so but reflect once -- are you being true to your vocation in this mad rush for preservation of this ephemeral being and all its associates, the desires and the dreams that run in contradiction to the manifestation of your deeper aspirations, as yet unaware of which you are, or, aware fleetingly and yet obstructing its flow, and so thwarting your self-affirmed status as the dear one of your God?

BENGALI RENDITION :

'Where birth beckons the day to follow'...

Janma jetha haatchhani dyay agamidiner tawrey...

ANUDHYAN : Janma bhabishyat abhijnatar suchana kore o deke aney agami muhurtagulo jar sutrakarey gnatha mala holo bhabishyater mayajaal.

'Devotee, how devoted are you in hot pursuit of selfish dreams?'

Bhaktaprabar, kato bhakta tumi hoye svarthosvapnarato ugradhabomaan?
