MAN AND HIS MISSION ... 22 [ English and Bengali versions both ]

LET LANGUAGE BE ROBUST

Let language be vigorous, expression robust and ideas uplifting. Let art and culture, literature and music awaken the higher impulses and not restrict themselves to quickening the baser passions of the body and the mind. What we have received as literary and musical legacy other than the classical musical and dance forms has debilitating traits that is eating into the vitals of our Bengali race. This degrading tendency needs arresting.

Language has its effect on the psyche of a race even as the psyche of the race fashions its linguistic mode of expression. Hence, to straighten the spine of a race, its language must be strengthened with the infusion of transcendental thought and its robust articulation.

It is most meet that we alter our style of writing consciously to a more masculine mode such that the words invigorate our sapping souls now inebriated with sensory delights.

ভাষা বলিষ্ঠ হোক

ভাষা বলিষ্ঠ হোক, প্রকাশভঙ্গি সবল ও ভাব ঊর্ধ্বগামী । শিল্প ও সংস্কৃতি, সাহিত্য ও সংগীত ঊর্ধচেতনার উদ্বোধন করুক এবং শরীর ও মনের নিম্ন বাসনার জাগরণকর্মে সীমাবদ্ধ না হোক । উত্তরাধিকার সূত্রে আমরা যা সাহিত্য ও সংগীতের সম্ভার পেয়েছি শাস্ত্রীয় সংগীত ও নৃত্য ছাড়া, তার এক সিংহভাগ দুর্বল ও ইন্দ্রিয়পরায়ণ যা বাঙালি জাতির স্নায়ুতে অনুপ্রবিষ্ট হয়ে তাকে ভোগমুখী করে চলেছে । এর প্রতিকার প্রয়োজন ।

ভাষা জাতির ভাবকে প্রভাবিত করে ঠিক যেমন একটি জাতির ভাব তার ভাষাগত বাহনটিকে নিয়মিত করে । তাই জাতির মেরুদন্ড সোজা করতে হলে তার ভাষা বলিষ্ঠ করতে হবে ইন্দ্রিয়াতীত ভাবের দ্বারা ও তার দৃঢ় প্রকাশের মাধ্যমে ।

আশু আবশ্যক আজ ভাষাপ্রয়োগের ভঙ্গিমা পরিবর্তনের । পৌরুষদৃপ্ত রচনার প্রয়োজন, কোমলতার সময় নয় এখন । শব্দের টংকারে উজ্জীবিত হোক ক্ষীয়মাণ আত্মা ইন্দ্রিয়ানন্দে আজ যা নিমজ্জিত ।
