The world is in turmoil. War, environmental crisis threatening annihilation of the human species, the spectre of nuclear holocaust threatening the same, and the general decline in the ethical order worldwide makes the propagation of Swami Vivekananda's works an imperative today. But it is not being done on the scale that it should be. In fact there is hardly any preaching of Swamiji across the world. Perhaps, the men in power, both sociopolitical and religiospiritual, do not quite comprehend the significance of propagating Swamiji to stave off the problems that beset the world and, so, save it. But we are near doomsday and unless Swamiji is preached across the world on a war footing, humanity is doomed. To this end one does not see any effort being made by the premier organisation founded by him and it is not only regrettable but alarming. But blaming bodies will not solve the problem. Swamiji has himself said, "Wait not for a prophet to come and save you but be a prophet unto others." That is the charge he has given us and that is the task we must fulfil. Upon our effort lies the future of humanity.
