Every minute the population of India keeps jumping to new heights. For every Chinese baby being born, 2.5 Indian babies are being born. Whither are we headed? Long back Swamiji had said that India could afford to feed ten times the population as of then which was 200 million. In other words, Swamiji had, perhaps, foreseen India reaching a climactic population of 2000 million or two billion which she would still be able to feed and preserve. Are we to trust the seer's words thus and keep heading for that target or are we to exercise restraint and curb our population growth to manageable proportions? Is there a sufficient population policy in place?
