AN APPEAL TO RAMAKRISHNA MISSION

AN APPEAL TO RAMAKRISHNA MISSION

Ramakrishna Mission should take up the building of a hospital complex on the scale of what Dr. Devi Shetty has proposed, that of 30,000 beds. This, if done, will truly highlight the magnitude of infrastructure necessary for the proper functioning of the country and will place Ramakrishna Mission high in the eyes of the Holy Trinity of Sri Ramakrishna, Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda, and endear it to each and every citizen of this country. The building of such a hospital complex will doubtlessly bring medical relief to millions of patients -- which goes without saying -- and make the whole country sympathetic to the Mission's cause. How this may be achieved is easy to trace in how the visionary Dr. Devi Shetty is doing it. The Mission may hold discussions with the eminent heart specialist and seek his assistance in fulfilling this project. The Mission has a tremendous influence in governmental circles with Prime Minister Narendra Modi being an ardent follower of Swami Vivekananda. Hence, securing funds and technical knowhow will not be that difficult for the proposed project. Also, millions of its devotees will pour in funds and all other services to bring the project to fruition.
Here I am harbouring this hope that this idea that I have been nursing for years in my bosom will see the light of day by some Swami of the Order reading this post of mine and placing it before the highest executive authority of the Order, Swami Suvirananda (General Secretary, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission). I leave my idea here and let citizens be inspired by it to get to the task of rebuilding our nation in our bid to bring healthcare to each and every citizen of this great country that right now is woefully short on medical facilities so far as the poor and the lower middle classes are concerned.
