Celebrating the 75th anniversary of Moirang Day at Hind Sangha, Chetla. On this day 75 years ago Colonel Shaukat Ali Malik of the Indian National Army hoisted the tricolour in Moirang. The day was 14 April, 1944. Thus was a portion of mainland India freed from British imperial bondage. Eminent Netaji researcher, scholar and author, Drjayanta Choudhuri, can be seen on stage along with a nonagenarian freedom fighter, Smt. Jyotirmoyee Ghosh, and Netaji devotee, Janab Ashraful Islam, from Bangladesh. Drjayanta Choudhuri was at his scintillating best as usual and enthralled the audience with his profound knowledge on Netaji related issues.
