A STRANGE CAMPAIGN FOR SURE AS THE TWITTER BUG BITES

A STRANGE CAMPAIGN FOR SURE AS THE TWITTER BUG BITES

The sovereignty of the State is under threat as a prospective weak Central leadership announces its manifesto to undermine the security of the security forces. If they get the mandate and in truth carry out some of their stated objectives, then the future of our nation will be dark indeed. This is the predicament the country faces today as it goes to polls. One one side heavy dramatisation is going on with little substance in the speeches delivered and utter puerile politics being done to woo the voters while on the other side, dangerous concessions are being proposed in effect for secessionists and terrorists by plotting to tie the hands of the armed forces in Kashmir. Sudden onrush of religious fervour is now the mental state of the lady with the lamp of hope for the poor as the power-starved opposition resorts to the communal card in all its crass catholicity to win votes to office. It is a strange election campaign on all sides with culture plummeting to an abysmal low as Rahul Gandhi keeps calling the PM thief and the party in power plays to the gallery in a like manner using less profane language though. The CM of West Bengal yesterday called PM Modi a riot monger in response to the PM's labelling her as a speed-breaker to Bengal's development. Thus the core issues are getting buried in an increasingly populist campaigning and the electorate is left wondering as to what must have stricken these politicians of late. Well, I know the answer. It is the twitter bug. Vande Mataram!
