1. I have read up on it as far as was possible to from Internet sources and have found certain intractable issues regarding its abrogation, namely, the requirement of the resurrection of the dissolved Constituent Assembly of J&K which is not possible. Hence, the latest Supreme Court judgement is that Art 370 is a settled fact for J&K. But Subramanian Swamy argues that it will merely require a Presidential decree to abrogate it and there seems to be substance in his affirmation thus. What do you say?

2. Tarek Fatah's constant campaigning in this regard is noteworthy. Also, you must listen to Sushil Pandit's addresses available on YouTube.

3. People, though, are as yet keeping their fingers crossed for the ploys adopted by this Party, now gone berserk for power, are so dubious that they threaten to woo the electorate into voting for this dynastic dispensation and in the process sell the fortunes of this land and the fate of this much wounded ancient civilisation. However, Rahul and Sonia Gandhi being either of foreign origin or holding foreign passport are not eligible to holding any portfolio in the govt, much less become PM. They at best can be the remote control of the PM and be the unseen handlers of the govt.

4. Religion above nation, that is. So, secularism vouched by them is pretence, hypocrisy, the waiting game till power through demographic change may be seized.

5. Bane of monotheism emanating from the Middle East.

6. So, do you suggest India should no more remain a secular State but should become a Hindu Rashtra or do you suggest a more robust non-partisan application of secular principles in the polity?

7. On top of that, Hinduism in its universality has always espoused the type of secularism political India stands for in point of principle. At any rate, to have changed the basic texture of the Constitution by the 42nd Amendment thus has been counterproductive for the country in the long run as we very well see today as to what goes on in the name of secularism, I mean, the labelling of anything Hindu as communal while exempting Islam from the application of such a standard on grounds of apparent protection of minority rights.

8. No, I am also requesting all those who take some sort of an active interest in the subject and are ardent followers of Netaji, whatever their predilections may be. We have to maximise participation in this group page on Netaji and one way will be to broaden our scope in sending invitations.

9. That will be a seminal addition to our treasure trove of literary expositions on the peerless patriot.

10. No, I am also requesting all those who take some sort of an active interest in the subject and are ardent followers of Netaji, whatever their predilections may be. We have to maximise participation in this group page and one way will be to broaden our scope in sending invitations.

11. I am happy to announce that Drjayanta Choudhuri, Prof Kapil Kumar and Madhusudan Pal are contributing their pieces on this page, and this encourages us very much in carrying on the crusade for the truth about Netaji's whereabouts post disappearance and for the highlighting of his life's contributions till 18 Aug, 1945 as well. We request these esteemed writers to keep contributing. Here we also extend once more our invitation to the others to flood the page with relevant researched essays on our beloved leader.

12. Prof Kapil Kumar, we look forward to your seminal work in uncovering facts and laying before the world the truths discovered thereof.

13. Prof Kapil Kumar, it would be great if you could gradually get to recording them in book form, all the information that will you have gleaned in the course of your research. But be careful of sharing them with compatriots in this field for the risk of plagiarism is indeed high. Hence, set the seal on the data by publishing them before long. It could be a series of papers as well with your authorised seal to prevent pilfering.

14. I would add, Debaprasad Babu, to what Joy Deep has said and include even 'Chakrabyuhe Netaji' written by Keshab Bhattacherjee as one of the books you must read to arrive at a modicum of understanding on the disappearance issue.

15. Thank you, Aranibhas Gupta, for obliging. Indeed, a very informative and exhaustive piece. You have rightly thrown the spotlight on the oft-forgotten foundation of the revolutionary struggle in the wake of the First World War which later triggered off its successful sequel during the Second World War that forced the British to flee the land and lend India independence.

16. Please inform us about him through your essays, Aranibhas Gupta, and we shall be delighted to know more about this redoubtable revolutionary of India's first successful attempt at establishing a free Provisional Government.

17. Simply superb. Nothing more to say. The pen freezes in estimation as the heart warms up to it in admiration. @Joy Deep

18. How about directing the discussion back towards Rash Behari Bose, Bagha Jatin and Masterda Surjya Sen? From the way the discussion is going on, it seems that Barkatullah was the original subject of the post. Let us rather veer our attention back to the trio mentioned in the post. Maulana Barkatullah may be the focus of a separate post. It is futile to always hijack space with one's personal preference, however esteemed such a preferred personality may be, and digress attention from the main course thus. Let us stay focused. @Aranibhas Gupta

19. True, but why did he prefer Nehru to Patel? @Debaprsad Bhattacharya

20. But why did he relent when he could have gone ahead with the Congress Working Committee's election of Patel as prospective PM? @Debaprsad Bhattacharya

21. But that is plain capitulation quite unlike the expected adherence to principles that one associates with a Mahatma. @Debaprsad Bhattacharya

22. Exactly. They (the Congress) are a part of the same design, the warp and woof of the same fabric that is being woven to be the shroud of our ancient civilisation.

23. This is very much within the universal scope of this page for discussion. I request you to begin it and others will follow suit.

24. We shall meet and get this act together. It will be a phenomenal programme and the series once begun will lead us all to where the rivers meet, the ocean of his vast personality, where contradictions have coalesced to resolve outstanding incidental issues and the solutions will have surfaced like the froth of the billows that no more matter when the depth of the ocean has been plumbed. Unto that gorgeous morn let my fancies hang on and my expectancy eager mount each day till its fruition shall be in the realisation of this aspired end. @ Shankar Kumar Chatterjee Ref : Call for group live video with Keshab Bhattacherjee, Drjayanta Choudhuri, Dr. Madhusudqan Pal and Dr. Shankar Kumar Chatterjee the prospective participants to whom invitations were sent.

25. Why are you angry, Chandan Ghosh? I hope it is not directed at me and it is the perfidious political opponents of Netaji whose dastardly designs have drawn your ire thus.

26. We should build our character and mould our lives in the cast of Swamiji and Netaji so that we may serve our motherland to the best of our immense ability and duly sacrifice for her cause, the preservation of her sovereignty and civilisation. @Nirmal Kumar Dey

30. Ah ! You ought to work harder to arrive at the facts like we have been doing. Do not expect others to labour for you but be content with whatever service they of their own volition are rendering you.

31. @ Joy Deep : I request you to regularly write for this group articles and essays in your delightful diction replete with factual details, and to contribute the same thereafter here.

36. @ Sharmistha Chatterjee : But I must say that it was a mistake dear. Do not take it seriously. I was just kidding so that the effect doth endear. At first I thought it was a reference to how the world was a vast forest and, hail, O heroic heart! thou wert the hart (deer) running through its mazes.

37. Not quite accurate in terms of factual details but fair enough in spirit. Swamiji had exhorted his countrymen to sacrifice for the motherland everything and serve her as the enchained embodiment of God. Remember India was then dependent on the British and was in a terrible state of servitude. Vivekananda in a volcanic burst of patriotic fervour exhorted his countrymen to dedicate themselves to the living embodiment of the Divine Mother in the visible form of the motherland.

38. @ Ramkrishna Saha : Satya kintu eibhabei beriye ashe dvaandik prakriyar madhyamey, through the dialectical process. Atoyeb, eti o kamya kintu amader nijeder satyanishtho hote hobe jatey bibhranta na hoye pori.

39. @ Maharah Mukherjee : Who is doing so? Myself or, by this comment, you are doing it? And, pray, how has Netaji been insulted by this post? What aspersion has been cast on him by doubting the authenticity of the marriage, that is, by presenting it as a foisted calumny on his spotlessly pure character? Only those who subscribe to such historical heresies, such foisted fabrications, such coarse concoctions may choose to feel indignant about the post.

40. @ Maharaj Mukherjee : Netaji never married. Hence, the insult is being heaped on him by the protagonists of the marriage concoction and not by me.

41. @ Maharaj Mukherjee : God bless you ! We will be happy to see you depart if you cannot stay in a civil manner.

42. @ Maharaj Mukherjee : Strange that you have yet not unsubscribed. Waiting for that glorious moment when you will be true to your word.

43. Beautifully presented, Tamoghna Das Sharma. I request you to post this one as a separate piece on this group page. It will draw a greater response then.

THIRD FACEBOOK LIVE COMMENT STREAM --- MY REPLIES

Sugata Bose · 0:00 So we are, but in my case the messages were showing up in my desktop comment box which was in the post-midnight deep unavailable to me. Henceforth, I shall go live at a more opportune moment when such facility will be at hand. @ Keka Ghosh

Sugata Bose · 0:00 It is a natural thing for we are located in different points in space-time where the differences in coordinates do play a role in altering perspectives. There is, likewise, a relative difference in our inner locations as well vis-a-vis each other and this lends variance in our conceptions, comprehensions, ideas, attitudes, beliefs, preferences, predilections and the resultant of all of this, our personalities. Differentiation and divergence thereof are in-built fundamental features of this cosmos, physical and psychological, and ends in the sameness of the Brahman only at the highest transcendental state of absolute unification and oneness. So, it is a very good thing to differ in opinion and perspective with others and to form, so to say, one's microcosm of thoughts and realisations, and in the bargain also to learn that others duly have a right to the same. That will lead to the flourishing of individual creativity, originality and inspiration while not in nay way disturbing social harmony. For self-allowance here implies universal allowance, and this the genius of India where ages ago was sounded 'Ekam Sad vipra bahudha vadanti' (Truth is one but the wise have articulated it variously). @ Keka Ghosh

Sugata Bose · 0:00 Keka Ghosh Yes, the Guru is an imperative in the spiritual path but he must not only be intellectual but spiritual as well, and vice-versa. @ Keka Ghosh

Sugata Bose · 0:00 Keka Ghosh Good combination, Harry and Om !

Sugata Bose · 0:00 You will have to give up everything that you are not, and since you are in everything, such renunciation in essence becomes a real acceptance of all things around you as your own. The attitude must change and the appreciation of everything will change with it. The essential thing is to give up worldliness and not the world in concrete terms as such. It is an inner giving up for the devotee, a growing detachment from unwholesome clinging to the material possessions of the outer world and the material thoughts that plague the mind. Through such detachment comes peacefulness in the awareness that you are everywhere, a resplendent divine being. Such self-consciousness in its transcendental sublimity is the destiny of man, the realisation of the Self, the Atman. @ Keka Ghosh

Sugata Bose · 0:00 Of course you will succeed. But spirituality is not a deferred process. It is here and now that it must be conducted, perceived, understood, assimilated and realised. He who is ever ready to go ahead now, advances in this cause rapidly, energetically and with great strides. @ Keka Ghosh

Sugata Bose · 0:00 Some people implicitly trust and they are more open to new ideas. But such attitudinal simplicity which opens up the inner realms for introspection and consequent awareness must not make such men gullible to lay themselves open to the evil influence of charlatans. This trust must be reposed in a good Guru who can guide spiritually, and in the scriptures which are the crystallised essence of the realisations of the rishis (seers) through the ages. @ Keka Ghosh

Sugata Bose · 0:00 Time on earth is too little for wasting time in contradicting others. It is better to keep one's own counsel and to try and identify who one truly is in the first place. After a modicum of self-realisation all these propensities to battling with others reduces greatly and one is placed in the position of equipoise to appreciate life in its true spiritual sense. @ Keka Ghosh

Sugata Bose · 0:00 You are already self-realised, only, you are by the dust of desire that covers consciousness, not yet aware of it, so to say. And yet, each moment your very depth self-realisation makes you consciousness of this apparent self which you call Keka Ghosh, this embodiment of name and form. @ Keka Ghosh

Sugata Bose · 0:00 This clearly proves that the entire marital myth has been created by the powers that be and men are so gullible as to gobble it. @ Abhirup Sarkar

Sugata Bose · 0:00 Perceptive observation. Demolishes the marriage myth for those who see him as Netaji. @ Abhirup Sarkar

Sugata Bose · 0:27 I have thus far been able to elicit some amount of interest in the cause through these live shows but I must say that the performance on my part has been far from satisfactory. I am thankful that you have watched and with such supportive strength, I am sure, we will go from strength to strength. @ Prabir Banerjee

Sugata Bose · 0:00 Bhaskar Sen Sharma, your love lavishes such praise in ample abundance.

Sugata Bose · 0:00 Self-confidence is good so long as it does not border on arrogance.

45. The Indian government has played a traitorous role towards the INA and their titanic leader, Netaji.

46. The British are the most cunning of all of the human race.

47. You are right. In response to this statement of yours I mentioned that may be Harshavardhana ascended the throne in 647 C.E. but stand rectified now at what you said. Indeed, that may have been the beginning of the end of Hindu rule (Buddhism included) over the entire Indian landmass. Soon after in 711 C.E. Muhammad Bin Qasim invaded Sindh. We have since then progressively lost land, wealth and adherents to the dharma traditions of India to Islam and we are still undergoing that in the entire subcontinent. We must resist and win back our lost glory, and we will. The Sanatan Dharma must triumph. @ Alok N. Chattopadhyaya

48. It is disgusting to see Subhas Chandra Bose being made to beat up Prof. Oaten with his slippers. It never took place that way. Bose never beat up Oaten but some of his college mates did it and that, too, not in class but in the staircase when at the end of the day Oaten was descending the steps. Bose took the blame of the incident on his shoulders to prevent the rustication of his college mates. A film should be made after thorough investigation into the pertinent facts.

49. @ Joyshree Munshi : Seek out the answer yourself but not from the proverbial 'me'.

50. @ Joyshree Munshi : Far from it, I bear too big a cross that I can scarce be cross with any.

51. Sharmistha Chatterjee : When you tolerate, you may not accept, but when you accept, you sure have crossed the limiting barrier of narrow toleration.

52. Abhirup Sarkar, we have to organise effort in countering calumny cast thus.

53. What is the game plan of this PTSD after all? What are the implications of it in the final analysis?

54. @ Joy Deep : Yes, of course, that will be the due course ahead. At any rate, it will take a bit of time to organise this joint session, and we must be armed in truth and in the untruth cited to be able to conclusively counter the latter with the former.

55. Joy Deep : Brilliant as usual in your characteristic highly restrained and culturally refined manner of presentation. I would request you to come on live for future shows with us if circumstances on your side permit such an association and consequent appearance before all to uphold your views.

56. I am, indeed, surprised at this sudden development that, Subhanjan, you speak of. This, perhaps, is a temporary glitch which will of its own get sorted out over the next couple of days, I guess. P.S. : Keep your posts strictly related to Netaji and the revolutionaries and do not post on Swamiji and Thakur unless such posts are directly related to Netaji. Then, I guess, this technical block by fb will not arise. Anyhow, let me assure that I had no role to play in this as such, although, I do not not approve any post which are not connected with the thematic content of this group page.

58. Sugata Bose : [@Joy Deep] The Tashkent Pact took place in 1966 and Bhagavanji arrived at Faizabad in 1983. Am I getting it right? So, perhaps, he was elsewhere located in Uttar Pradesh at around that time and not Faizabad. Moreover, I have read in a comment of Abhirup Sarkar that at the time of the talks in Tashkent, Bhagavanji was absent from his location in India and there was no dummy whatsoever doing replacement duty for him there. Rather, no one was allowed to go near or enter his residential room where a strict vigil was kept up to uphold the secrecy so as to avoid detection of his absence. This is hearsay evidence for me and you may have other references whereby you may judge better. Abhirup Sarkar may also corroborate on this with added information.

59. Sugata Bose : But, Fraeortis Satarawalla, believers say that Netaji had thus disguised himself to avoid detection, that is, he had hair implanted on his scalp. I guess that is what the faithful believe it to be. Again, as Saurav Bhattacharjee rightly says, it could have been a wig as well.

60. Sugata Bose : Fraeortis Satarawalla That is hardly ever likely for all such will invariably come under some sort of political compulsion, complex as the case is with its national and international ramifications. At least that is what has been the stated position of the Government of India in the past and that is how it has conducted itself with utmost secrecy about the Netaji Files.

61. Sugata Bose : You are very right, Keka. Your artist's eye caught keenly the difference.

62. Sugata Bose : [@Ratan Pal] I wholly second your beautifully articulated view.

63. Sugata Bose : [@Utsav Datta] Apparently no one. I have read in Abhirup Sarkar's comment that no one was allowed in those days to go near the room where the sage stayed for the period of time that Bhagavanji stayed out of India. In other words, no dummy, empty room, none allowed to see inside.

64. Sugata Bose : [@ It is necessary to solve the Tashkent Man mystery in order to counter the claims of the recently published book that Bhagavanji suffered from Post Trauma Stress Disorder or PTSD.

65. Sugata Bose : [@Samrat Mukherje] We are trying to arrive at the truth about the contentious issues of Netaji's life post-disappearance simply because in the very act we are following his ideology of never compromising with injustice and untruth.

66. Sugata Bose : [@Prodipto Bhattacharya] We can merely exert pressure on the government by piling up public opinion and no more. The rest will take place in due course by the inexorable process of history hopefully.

67. Sugata Bose : [@Swapan Basu] The English is faultless to my reckoning, although, I must say that I do make mistakes periodically and am amenable to rectification ever by others. 'Suffer from' is unnecessary in the stylistic context. In point of fact, 'suffer from' is actually an erroneous application as it would imply that 'marriage and fatherhood', collectively speaking, is a kind of a disease which in the pertinent case it is not. Hence, the afforded application stands the linguistic test and comes out triumphant from it.

68. Sugata Bose : [@Joy Deep] I have always included Vidyasagar in my classical list of great Indians post-Plassey but decided this time to include instead the seminal scientists of supreme significance.

69. Sugata Bose : [@Gungun Nandi] Gungun, you ought to acknowledge the artist and writer, Tapan Bhattacharya, who composed this framed photograph of Pritilata Waddedar. Please do so in all fairness.

70. Sugata Bose : [@Gungun Nandi] And Gungun, I hope you do realise that I am not the Harvard historian, Sarat Chandra Bose's grandson, the TMC Parliamentarian, Prof. Sugata Bose. I am quite another Sugata Bose belonging to a different lineage. And I am completely an apolitical person, at least to the effect that one can possibly be.

71. Sugata Bose : Maharaj, Swami Ekarthananda Puriji, you are facing Devi Saraswati who is taking your test in offering herself to be taught. May the duo be blessed in mutual reverence !

72. Sugata Bose Gungun Nandi Mone hoy ni. Shudhu sobai ei bhulti kore thaken bolei bollam jodio ami nishchit chhilam je tumi shey bhul karoni karon tomar teekshna buddhi.

73. Sugata Bose : [@Gungun Nandi] Na, na, tomar comment sob porte porte ekdin amar profiley ami bhablam je khub buddhi meyer, abar kabitao lekhe sundar chhandey bhabopurno, sankshipta.

74. Keka Ghosh : [@Sugata Bose] I cannot always attend your live talks because of our time differences. But I always listen to it the next day.
I feel very enriched and proud to listen to what ever you say. To know that this world still have, selfless humans like you who give without receiving. This just gives me the reassurance - that ‘Mahapurushes’ still exist.

75. Sugata Bose : [@Utpal Aich] Simply marvellous. An accurate description of the famed manipulator of situations for securing personal advantages to the terrible detriment of the motherland and her premier patriot son, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. Kudos to Utpal Aich for bringing facts to the fore for easy comprehension. Not all are capable of gleaning material from a myriad books. It is here that we owe to Utpal Babu our debt of gratitude for doing the hard work for us and allowing us the pleasure of easy apprehension of the dubious endpoint of the freedom struggle and the perfidious beginnings of our post-independence saga.

76. Sugata Bose : [@ Keka Ghosh] If God wills it, it shall come to pass one day. Keep your aspiration for it right. And yours is a grand objective, one that will surely usher in the grace of Thakur, for wherever his Gospel is read, he is present, and even more so in a congregation of devotees.

77. Sugata Bose : [@Utpal Aich] Thank you, Utpal Babu, for this highly informative post written in lucid language with great movement and flow which has effectively captured the dynamic flow of events as they had then happened. A wonderful piece of writing.

78. Sugata Bose : [@Utpal Aich] I request you to write a most elaborate account of the entire Hardinge-Rash Behari-Basanta Biswas episode culminating in the martyrdom of Biswas and the escape of Bose to Japan.

79. Sugata Bose : [@Debaprasad Bhattacharya] Not if there is undue emphasis on personality to set up a cult that obscures the vision underlying the principle and aims at superseding it with self-interest. The line of demarcation is fine and must not be transgressed through the clamour of sycophants seeking self-gain by constant propaganda of the leader's name which befits, perhaps, a feudal society but not quite a democratic polity as such.

80. Sharmistha Chatterjee : [@Sugata Bose] Gold is considered pure only when it is 24 carat, anything below that is an alloy. Must we then accept and not fight for the man ,who remains untainted ,pristine and pure ; who, in the days past, when our motherland was hovering lowly on the ground, sacrificed as a saint and fought like a lion ? Shouldn't we try to prove our venerated national hero to be a 24 carat gold?

Sugata Bose : [@Sharmistha Chatterjee] What a lovely rejoinder, befitting truly a cultivated soul, an exquisitely cultured one at that !

Sharmistha Chatterjee : [@Sugata Bose] Only a humble thank you will not be enough for such a prized appreciation..
I must never be oblivious of my devout devotion for my country and those brave sons and daughters of our motherland. I am always prepared to fall on my knees and kiss the dust of my motherland and show my reverence to those sublimed souls

Sugata Bose : [@Sharmistha Chatterjee] And the days are not lost yet. You could be one such in their footsteps in the long line of sacrificial souls who have lent with their life's blood flavour to the civilisation that is the inheritance of humanity.

81. Sugata Bose : Maharaj [Swami Ekarthananda Puri], the Vak Devi is with you evidently. What sublimity of expression we are the recipients of from you these days!

Swami Ekarthananda Puri : Sugata Bose, thank you so much for your kind words.

82. Sugata Bose : [@Riya Bhattacharya] I cannot comment on another person's motive. I am not privy to his motivations.
