FASCIST -- AN OFT-REPEATED APPELALATION THESE DAYS

FASCIST -- AN OFT-REPEATED APPELALATION THESE DAYS

The Opposition has taken to this word 'fascist' with respect to the present Government and has succeeded in inducing the public in parts to take to it as well by constant use of the term. This has been brought about by a Goebbels-like repetition, so very characteristic of the Nazi-fascist regime itself. Ironical that those who oppose fascism should choose to utilise one of the shrewdest propaganda ploys of the Nazi-fascist Minister of Propaganda, that of repetition of a lie to eventual assimilation in the body politic as truth, for, to all intents and purposes, the Government of India is not fascist by any stretch of imagination, although, it is disposed to the exertion of a greater degree of authority within the democratic framework than earlier governments since Indira Gandhi have been prone to. But fascist? No way, for our very Constitution prevents it from coming into being.
