Self-confidence works wonders but it is achieved only through persistent hard work and the consequent self-boosting received from success thereof. Mere verbal affirmation of self-confidence is superficial and of not much use in the face of terrible adversity. Hence, it is an attribute that must be cultivated over years through patient and persistent hard work at one's craft and one's abilities. Affirmation thus does indeed bring forth one's inner fire and sculpt out of man the greater individual which no vain assertion quite manages.

Self-confidence is an attribute in independence and not in abject dependence on others, their opinions and views about you, their acceptance or rejection of your person as worthwhile or worthless and their following or not following you. It is entirely a reflexive trait, an emanation from the divine self behind, percolating through the psycho-physical personality, and ultimately is the precursor to the recoiling of one upon oneself in absolute self-absorption. Its lower derivative post-realisation of the Self then is that tremendous power manifesting in a magnetic pull that the prophetic soul has on the masses which is irresistible in its hold as it is in its appeal and goes about to transforming people's lives.
