IN RESPONSE TO A QUESTION POSED BY A PERSON ON MY PAGE

Q. If Atman/Brahman are all the same, then where stands God? And then why do we pray separately to God, since we are all the Self. Sir, kindly guide.
A. Atman and Brahman are the same Absolute Self in the non-dual state which is without attributes or form. God is the same Atman/Brahman seen through the mist of Maya, that is, space-time-causality. We pray out of ignorance of our Real Self as embodied beings. So long as our sense of body and mind exists, our sense of God also exists. This is the dual state. When illumination shall be, the universe and God will both disappear and we will stand shorn of our psycho-physical apparel as the Supreme Self. Then our phenomenal personality will melt into nothingness and our finiteness will cease. We shall be boundless and whole and shall not require to pray to any. Who shall then pray and to whom? Then the Being alone will abide.
