AMUSING ASPECTS OF INDIAN JOURNALISM

AMUSING ASPECTS OF INDIAN JOURNALISM

I find it amusing that Indian journalists, while interviewing liberal leaders of thought who are renowned in the world for their catholic views on international issues, feel frustrated when they cannot bring them to their intended narrow views about the present regime in India and somehow drag discussion from the general principled plane to their frog's well of a consciousness where they keep beating the Prime Minister and his ministry. This is journalism, indeed ! The antithesis of this is the popular nocturnal circus masquerading as television journalism where the anchor plays the classic clown with his cacophony to the chorus of his cronies in praise of the Government of the day without discretion or judgement but only to please the masters for whatever revenues may be earned this way or that. This is also journalism, indeed !
