GURU AND GOD WITH A REDOUBLED HARMONIC VENGEANCE, ONLY IN NAME, THOUGH -- MESSIAHS OR MISCHIEVOUS MERCENARIES?

When a spiritual Guru causes environmental disaster as was caused by this famous one to the plain of the river Yamuna while hosting an international musical extravaganza, it can hardly be commended nor can the subsequent refusal to pay up the fine of Rs 120 crore imposed for the offence be construed as anywhere being indicative of a semblance even of spiritual enlightenment. The Hindu renaissance would require better protagonists than these fake Gurus, in the absence of which it will peter into a gross material culture with its corresponding commercial corruption as is amply evident in these current crop of modern day messiahs with their pretences and their posturing.

P.S. : Who am I talking of in this piece? Any guesses? The photo is appealing, true, but who is the centrepiece of the piece proper, one who vouches in the name of peace ever and is a stress-reliever but is quite compromised in many a material way and in a damaging, damning way quite, as in the current case alluded to here about musical extravaganza destroying the Yamuna plain for which he refused to pay up on the imposed fine? The fine was later reduced from the initial amount of 120 crore rupees to the finally settled sum of rupees 5 crore which was paid off, though, in instalments over a period of time.

This sort of a gross violation of the environment for gaining organisational and self-publicity and the arrogance to ignore paying the levied fine for such violation reeks of a dubious nexus with the political dispensation of the day that gives them mileage and upholds their mischievous designs for the purpose of advancing their political ends.

These are hardly spiritual personalities but are, rather, mercenaries with Mammon as their God who are reducing Hinduism to a mockery, yoga to a business and fancy breathing techniques to a viable national commercial venture that is selling well in a world gone wrong with an overdose of material diet.

The Avatar in right earnest must manifest now if things are to be redressed and Hinduism rescued from the hands of charlatans and crooks and preserved from the onslaughts of proselytising religions like Christianity and Islam as well.

But I revert to the original question -- who is the person alluded to in this article?
