FAST AND FORCE THE ISSUE AS AND WHEN YOU LIKE

FAST AND FORCE THE ISSUE AS AND WHEN YOU LIKE

Fasting to emotionally blackmail a nation into submission and, so, force it to hand over the due 55 crore rupees to perfidious Pakistan at a time when they were waging war on India in Kashmir can hardly be construed a spiritual move on the part of the Mahatma. His puerile moves to uphold personal integrity of sorts at a terrible cost to the nation have done our motherland untold harm and such lapses on his part must be systematically exposed in an objective manner in this year of his sesquicentennial celebration when only praises are being officially heaped on him.

The historical approach demands dispassionate analysis of the Mahatma's attainments and failings both without polishing up the former and watering down the latter. Gandhiji was an adherent of truth and he must be studied and revealed to the nation in terms of truth alone. His Himalayan achievements and monumental failures both must find an equal place in our chronicled history and left to the people to estimate his overall contributions to India's rise and fall. Let truth unfold as truth is told without malice or bias or adoration undue.
