THE MOTHERLAND AND THE MASSES ... 1
If the upper castes wish to survive the day and live to the morrow, they will have to take the lead in bringing the masses to the forefront of national life (a) by educating them (b) by affording them basic amenities for decent living, and this can happen only by curtailing crony capitalism, and (c) by spreading culture among them so that a sympathetic bond integrates and unites India amidst a rising consciousness of our national heritage devoid of some of its traditional trappings which have held back the masses for long. In other words, Vedanta in all its glorious application needs to form the substance of this national renaissance.
