THE ENDANEGERED SPECIES
With alarm I witness the precipitous decline in culture and it is coming as much from women as men. There is a disastrous trend in this regard in society where the gentleman's class is losing its code of honourable behaviour and sinking increasingly into lowly mass culture devoid of fundamental refinement. This, indeed, is an alarming situation where future generations will have no clue as to what courtesies and proper civic norms of their forefathers were, what the best elements of human interaction were when in a bygone age these now extinct attributes characterised the gentlemanly class. Now the gentleman [bhadralok] is an endangered species and we must take every care that he/she is preserved from total annihilation by the progressive emergence of savage forces.
