SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT ... 1

SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT ... 1

The ability to hammer away truths comes from living a life of truth. Thus, Swami Vivekananda could speak with the authority which none else could do.
Sri Aurobindo spoke with a rare perceptiveness and was unequivocal in his denunciation of Muslim fanaticism that threatened to reduce the majority Hindu community to subordinate status unless the Hindus organised themselves against such a move. The other major leaders, almost all the big ones, tried to appease the Muslims in some way or the other to win them over which Aurobindo thought was just not possible, given the mind-set of the Muslims. Sri Aurobindo was categorical that unless Muslims stopped converting Hindus to their fold, Hindu-Muslim unity was simply a daydream.
