SEPARATING THE GRAIN FROM THE CHAFF

SEPARATING THE GRAIN FROM THE CHAFF

Journalism ought to be impartial for its aim ideally is to communicate the message to the people from as many perspectives as possible and leave it to their good sense to come to terms with it and infer what they will. Unfortunately, throughout the world this is not the case as journalists carry specific agenda based on commercial and ideological interests. This means that there is always undue ideological slant to a news item broadcast which has to be intelligently read into. This is not what ordinary people are equipped to do and, so, news channels influence mass behaviour for good or for evil through the partial truths they project by way of broadcasting news. Rare, rare indeed, is the channel that does service to the people, maintaining a neutral stance.
Well, this is the world of mass media right now and the masses be wary of it. Do not credulously take in everything that is broadcast as the gospel truth or the only gospel truth. For gospels there are many and they need to be read all before judgement may be passed on happenings that really matter to all of us.
