Witnessing the plummeting culture in West Bengal of late, a trend that has been on for the last several decades with growing materialism and its ill-begotten progeny in decadent atheism holding centre-stage, one becomes even more conscious of one's own responsibility towards the uplift of culture. It now becomes one's prime priority to save one's community from self-inflicted cultural holocaust by expending one's own energy in raising the standards of art and literature, music and manners in howsoever meagre a proportion one may. A like endeavour must be the lot of all if this precipitous fall in culture is to be arrested and the curve made to reverse itself to an upward incline. May Mother Saraswati bless all with success in this noble endeavour !
