IN RESPONSE TO ARUNANGSHU SARKAR'S OBSERVATION AS TO HITLER'S BREACH OF NON-AGGRESSION TRUST WITH AN ALLY

IN RESPONSE TO ARUNANGSHU SARKAR'S [Arunangshu Sarkar] OBSERVATION AS TO HITLER'S BREACH OF NON-AGGRESSION TRUST WITH AN ALLY

Hitler broke the Ribbentrop-Molotov Non-aggression Pact, also called the Russo-German Non-Aggression Pact, and invaded Soviet Russia. But that was not hypocrisy. That was plain betrayal, you could say, but prompted by Hitler's expansionist attitude and consequent apprehension of a prior Soviet aggression into German territory. Hence, the point that I have wished to highlight holds. However, the point you have raised does throw the searchlight on this tendency both in Hitler and in the British in general of their lack of trustworthiness and their capacity to stoop low in achieving political ends.

This last trait is more evident in the British character than in Hitler as such who, for all his monstrosity, did have a standard ideal of lowly hate from which he did not budge. But the British could, and still can, change colour like the chameleon to emerge clear victors in this race for explicit and implicit hypocrisy. Their political values have ever been governed by national interest and their political ends achieved by trickery, deception, deceit, fraud and falsity, and continuous change of alliance based on the tilt of the power-balance and their requirement to be on the heavier side of it irrespective of ethical considerations.

Hitler is a known and a sworn enemy of humanity but the British have harmed humanity much worse, although, ever pretending to be on the civilising side of things. Netaji had a keener insight than most others into the scheming British mind and could read it through and through to be able to arrive at his thesis that the British were no better than the fascists and were actually a deal worse than them which, in turn, prompted him to seek unwittingly the assistance of Nazi Germany and, thereafter, Imperial Japan in his struggle for independence of his motherland.

The short arm of history has destroyed the fascists. The long arm of history will decimate the Anglo-Americans. This is 'the vengeance of history' as Swamiji dubbed it.
