BE ASSURED AND NEVER IN DOUBT

BE ASSURED AND NEVER IN DOUBT

Your Guru is always by your side and ever abiding in the deepest recesses of your being whence he sends waves of spiritual inspiration unto you. So, be comforted on that count and never be in self-doubt.

This is the most abiding of all relations and the only one that may be called truly spiritual for in this world of coarse commerce all other relations have become tainted with the foul touch of matter, this alone yet remaining above all such earthly contamination. But such a Guru is not ordinarily come by and arrives at your doorstep by the direction of the Divine. Such a disciple also is rare who readily --- after the period of test and trial --- accepts the Guru wholeheartedly and surrenders his lower attributes at his holy feet whereby he is absolved of all carnal connections that keep him bound to this finite world of flesh and form. His is a comprehensive act of submission to the higher spiritual force of the Guru and a receiving of the divine grace thereby. The relation remains fraught with unearthly vibrations of spiritual giving and receiving as the power flows from preceptor to pupil in an unconditional act of grace. The Kathopanishad enjoins a condition when this should take place. Where the preceptor is of wondrous articulation and the pupil an adept in reception, there illumination follows. Hence, it is a binding condition that must be fulfilled for the flow of spirituality, the transmission of power from preceptor to pupil in an unbroken chain called 'Guru parampara' (the sequential preceptor-pupil spiritual chain).

Preparation is the key. The wax has to be made and readied over a long period of time. Then it takes but a moment to ignite the candle and for light to flood the vicinity. So also in all other human endeavour. Labour is in preparation for the final act which itself happens then in a flash. No wonder Sri Ramakrishna used to say," A moment's union leads to God-realisation.''
