TULSI MAHARAJ ... 2
TULSI MAHARAJ ... 2

In the appended photographs the direct discipleship of Swami Nirmalananda, that of Sri Ramakrishna, has been clearly hinted at by the Advaita Ashrama publication, namely, 'COMPANIONS AND FOLLOWERS OF RAMAKRISHNA'. BRAHMAGOPAL DATTA'S book 'SWAMI NIRMALANANDA (TULSI MAHARAJ), A DIRECT DISCIPLE OF SRI RAMAKRISHNA, CALCUTTA 1991' has been referred to as detailed source material on the rift between the Belur Math and Swami Nirmalananda. The aforesaid book's authenticity has thus been acknowledged by the Belur Math, thereby establishing the veracity of the claim by Tulsi Maharaj's devotees and disciples that he was the direct disciple of Sri Sri Thakur. How strange it is then that in the corpus of Ramakrishna-Vivekananda literature his name does not prominently figure as Sri Ramakrishna's direct monastic disciple like the other sixteen such disciples! This is a deliberate act of omission which must forthwith be corrected for the open establishment of truth whose very embodiment Sri Ramakrishna was.
Yours in happy and sad submission of this important piece of 'evidence' that Swami Nirmalananda was a direct monastic disciple of Sri Ramakrishna even in the indirect submission of the Mission,
Sugata Bose
