I am convinced about one thing and it is this that Netaji was a bachelor throughout his life, a highly spiritual person and a celibate. His having married and fathered a child is simply a myth woven into the credulous common mind by careful planting of an idea to tarnish his image and reduce him thus from his phenomenally exalted status to that of a fallible human being devoid of character and substance, utterly bereft of basic morality in life and action. This theory which has no documentary evidence to substantiate it --- for there is neither marriage certificate to authenticate his conjugal connection nor mention of his name as father of his alleged daughter in the latter's birth certificate --- must be contested constantly till the truth be driven home into the public mind, thus far maliciously polluted by the agencies that stood to benefit from it and even today stand to do so. Sincere devotees of Netaji must publicly denounce this marriage-daughter fiction as so much conspiracy hatched against the hero of unsullied character and prove that they are worthy of being considered devotees of Netaji after all.
I rest my case here and once more exhort all to uphold Netaji's status as the prince of patriots who could never have indulged in such base carnal connection at such a momentous phase of the motherland's struggle for freedom for which he had avowedly renounced all personal considerations till freedom had been achieved.
